It's a Small World After All

May 20. Friday. Magic Kingdom Day. Red shirts.

We started our day by going to Stitch which we've never done. None of us were really impressed with it. That chili dog burp nearly made me sick. However, it was straight uphill from there. We had a 10:05 Priority Seating for Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast and it was everything we'd hoped for. We had a table next a window overlooking Fantasyland. The stained glass windows in the castle are gorgeous. During our breakfast, we were visited by Snow White, Mary Poppins, Belle, Aurora, and yes, Cinderella! They were all so beautiful and very sweet. The food was great. That cream cheese stuffed french toast was low-cal/low-fat,too. Not!

The rest of the day went well despite the warm temps. The crowds are much lower than we are used to during our normal time (Spring Break - March). That makes the heat easier to deal with. The longest time we've waited in line has probably been 20 minutes. We've gotten fast passes on some things and they've worked very well this time with the lower crowd levels.

Katie rode Space Mountain for the first time! She's a brave, brave girl. Some adults can't ride this ride. Other things we did included Tom's Sawyer's Island, Splash Mountain, TTA, and Thunder Mountain Railroad. After eating lunch at Pecos Bill, we secured a good spot to watch the afternoon parade, Share A Dream Come True. We also did Country Bear Jamboree, Carousel, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Mickey's Philharmagic, Walt Disney Railroad, and the new show from Tokyo Disneyland, Cinderellabration!

Of course, we didn't mImage hosted by Photobucket.comiss the newly refurbished It's a Small World, which brings me to the title of this post. You know, it is really a small world. No other place are you more cognizant of that than Disney World! They don't call it world for nothing. Just in the last 24 hours, we've seen people from countries all over the world and people from all over the United States. In one day, Katie has befriended two girls from India and a girl from Illinois. And, when I say befriended, I'm talking hugs goodbye and let's do lunch sometime! That girl!

I digress. It never ceases to amaze me the different languages you hear during a Disney day. I recognized French, Spanish, and several Asian languages today. A lady with a thick British accent told us Katie had dropped her hat. The kids thought her accent was cool. Of course, I have also heard several Amercian accents particulary those I imagined to be from the Northeast, youse guys.

By the way, the new and improved It's a Small World is totally awesome! The new queue area is so cool even though the clock didn't have the right time!? The colors of the dolls and scenes were breathtaking, too. However, the message was the same because it couldn't be improved upon. The message is as fitting today as it was back when this ride was unveiled at the 1965 World's Fair:

it's a small world after all,

it's a small, small, world!

Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom day. It will be a wild day I'm sure.
