I Really Miss the Seventies!

I really miss the seventies!

No, I'm not talking about the decade. Sure, it was a fun time to grow up in with some awesome music! I'm also not talking about the section of our resort, Pop Century, that we stayed in last year with some of our friends. That seventies section was fun and funky. We all loved that twister board outside our door! The kids loved the phrases on the side of the buildings. Two of the phrases were "Get Down" and "Polyester" and they were side by side. The kids thought it was one big phrase. If I heard them say "Get down polyester" one time, I heard them say it a thousand times. It was hilarious to hear it said together like that. I don't rememember polyester ever being that funny.

But do you know what I am missing? I miss the the huge 1970 sign out front of Pop Century. One of the three hurricanes that hit Florida last fall took it out. I heard they are still working on it and that it will be back soon.

Get down, Polyester!
