After the Amazing Race we all slowed down a bit and rode together the rest of the way. Y'all, when I say slow, I mean s-l-o-w. The traffic was at a crawl several times during the final leg of our trip. We never were sure what was causing all the problems. However, judging by the time it tooks us to get through that one stretch of interstate, they had enough time to clean up any accident that could have happend and repave the roads before we got there.
But just think, if we had been going full speed, we would've missed all the interesting things we saw along the way like Rosie and the Ramblin' Road Trip camper, the lady with all the dogs, and the free toll on the Turnpike! I really must stop and give a shout out to my friend Robin for keeping us all entertained on the walky talkies along the way.
Well, after stopping at Arby's in Lake City for lunch, several additional potty stops (did I mention there were seven kids among us?) and one wrong turn later (sorry, my bad), we arrived at those wonderful gates shown above. Yes, friends, it's just an entrance into the Downtown Disney area. But oh, it's not just any old entrance. Beyond those gates lies much more. When you see those gates, you know that you've arrived!
