Windows to Another World

I think it's so neat how the Disney Imagineers pay homage to those who have played a vital role in the making of Disney World. These little things are often overlooked. For instance, the windows up and down Main Street, U.S.A. have advertisements in the windows. The people used for the various fictitious companies are Disney family members and employees who made it all happen.

Speaking of Main Street, it just has that nostalgic feel that I love. The use of forced perspective, in which the upper floors progressively get smaller, really makes the buildings seem much taller and you really feel like you are walking down a real town around the turn of the century. It always amazes me how much thought and attention to details goes into everything at Walt Disney World.

I've read that Walt's dream was to create a park where children and parents could both have a wonderful time and he has succeeded many times over. I am so thankful that he created these and many other windows to another world... a world where we can all feel like kids again.
